I definitely belong to the category of people, who start getting this sinking feeling, whenever the music comes on and people start rushing madly to the dance floor, as if they're rushing towards a portkey or something.. What follows is a constant nervous loookout for those over enthusiastic friends / relatives who will soon come to prey on you, as if you having atleast having one moronic picture clicked with a stupid dance pose, is what will make the wedding a successful event :-)

Sure be calm is the essence of such difficult situations and you have more chances of getting away. I am on a different tac, its about how to reach out to this breed of men ( they are in large numbers in all metros as Taxi / Auto drivers, the Veg vender, the Dhobi & a whole host of them) from the lower middle and middle class who THINK & BELIEVE women are to be treated that way alone. How do we educate them, into changing their way of thinking right from their child hood (or else its too late).

Very well written....
I have never fallen in love and so donot know how heartbreaks are but I agree with the calmness tip 1 and 2. I have seen people forgetting the world and the specially the other important things that takes place in life alongwith a relationship and when they do the melodrama of a socalled heartbreak. In both the cases they lose their dignity and let themselves be a 'topic' for gossip and to pity over. Such things surely needs to be corrected.

Wow, I've been saying this for years. Finally I read that someone actually gets it. God's word, in a nutshell, is "be a good person." That's it! Be good! Good unto family, friends and strangers alike. Not for expectations of reward, but just because it's the right thing to do. If one could extract just one idea from whatever "book" comes as required reading for their religion, it should be that.

Problem for most is that that requires inner reflection, forethought, empathy and sometimes a little sacrifice. Simply put, people don't care. It's all me, me, me.
